The FCMP is the Portuguese national federation covering camping and mountain sports, recognised as a public utility body since 1978. It governs nine outdoor disciplines including camping, auto-caravanning, alpinism, climbing, canyoning, hiking and ski-mountaineering. It licenses affiliated clubs and members, issues the Camping Card International, and organises national and international rallies. It represents Portugal at FICC.

Parque de Campismo de Castelo do Bode

Parque de Campismo de Castelo do Bode sits beside the Castelo do Bode reservoir at Martinchel, in the Abrantes area of Santarem district. The federation lists pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, a swimming pool and further fixed accommodation. Fishing, swimming and non-motorised watersports are available on the reservoir, and Tomar is about 12 km away. Parque de Campismo de Coja

Parque de Campismo de Coja lies at Prego do Soito on the banks of the river Alva, in the Arganil area of Coimbra district. The federation lists pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes together with a motorhome service point and further fixed accommodation. The PR1 schist trail starts nearby and river fishing is available. Parque de Campismo de Escaroupim

Parque de Campismo de Escaroupim occupies 30,000 square metres of pine woodland beside the river Tagus and the Escaroupim national forest, in the Salvaterra de Magos area. The federation records 250 pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes. The neighbouring village of Escaroupim retains its traditional avieira stilt houses and a museum nucleus. Parque de Campismo de Mondim de Basto lies at Lugar de Montao on the right bank of the river Cabril, in the mountains of Vila Real district. The federation lists pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes and access to a river beach. The area is used for walking, climbing, canyoning and coarse fishing. Parque de Campismo de Penacova stands on the Estrada da Carvoeira above the river Mondego, upstream of Coimbra. The federation lists pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, a motorhome service point and further fixed accommodation. The Lorvao monastery and the Penacova watermills are close by. Parque de Campismo Lagoa de Santo Andre

Parque de Campismo Lagoa de Santo Andre sits between the Santo Andre lagoon nature reserve and the beach, in the Santiago do Cacem area of the Alentejo coast. The federation describes it as one of the largest campsites in Portugal and lists pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes plus a motorhome service point. Waymarked walking routes run from the site and the Roman ruins of Mirobriga are about 17 km away. The ACP is Portugal's national motoring and touring club, providing roadside and travel assistance across Portugal and Europe.
