The ÖAMTC was formed in 1946 through the merger of two clubs dating from 1896 and 1898, and now has over 2.2 million members. It runs 24-hour roadside assistance with about 500 vehicles from more than 100 bases, an air rescue service, driving safety centres and vehicle testing. Members receive the monthly auto touring magazine and free legal advice on accidents, insurance, vehicle purchases and travel. Its travel agency sells holidays and it partners with the Österreichischer Camping Club on camping benefits.

Österreichischer Camping Club

Founded in 1951 and based in Vienna, the ÖCC describes itself as the largest camper interest group in Austria. It issues the Camping Card International bundled with camper liability insurance and runs an ÖCC Vorteilspartner discount network across Austria and Europe. Members receive the quarterly Camping Revue magazine and access to its campsite and motorhome stopover databases. The club is affiliated to both FICC and FIA, and works in partnership with ÖAMTC.
